Every year, approximately 175,000 people join direct sales in the United States and worldwide, 300,000 join direct sales.
Another interesting fact is that the percentage of women in the home based business is much more than that of men. In particular, women between 35 and 55 take home-based businesses and succeed them. Most of them work part-time and are enjoying flexible working hours.
Regular corporate houses encourage these women offering various business opportunities. These women are also working in their niches and experts are showing tremendous efficiency in their efforts. Since most of these women do not hesitate to acquire the necessary skills, they Excel and most of the times, out-smart their male counterparts.
So, home-based business is a viable option and great, and if you have the necessary drive and enthusiasm, you too can achieve financial success by taking a dip in this. But, before making a decision, you should make an honest analysis and ask yourself some serious questions:
-If you did any invention that can be marketed and sold.
-If you can commit to work at least for a few hours per day.
-If you are opting to pursue a sales-oriented activity, if you are interested to meet and talk with strangers. This is very important in sales, because if you hesitate to talk to new people, you will not be able to expand your customer base and you can't get more sales. In fact, the first statement is that you get in class "sales and marketing" is "talk to strangers".
Once you have made a serious evaluation of yourself and decided to take the plunge, it should not be over-ambitious and set unrealistic goals. Don't forget the old adage that "a journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step". You should take small but firm steps. You should be ready to put forth your time, effort and money to achieve the objectives set. You should have a thorough knowledge of your products or services, and also what you are doing. Never should lose your focus. Even if you have the freedom of flexible working hours, you'd better set aside fixed hours per day, so that you can work so disciplined.
There may be obstacles, but one should never lose the heart. You have to understand that these obstacles, you can learn a lesson or two. You must avoid the mistakes that cause obstacles and proceed on track to achieve success in your business. If they are focused, you are sure to reach your goal faster than expected.
